After our republic gained independence, a need arose for personnel in the fields of foreign economic activity and international monetary and credit relations. Consequently, to train highly qualified specialists in these areas, the faculty of “International Economic Relations” was established by Order No. 270 of the Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 28 April 1990. On 3 October 2011, the faculty was renamed to “Investment Activity,” then to “Banking” on 2 January 2013, and to “Corporate Governance” in 2016.
In February 2024, by decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Tashkent Institute of Finance and the Fiscal Institute merged into the Tashkent State University of Economics, establishing TSUE as the leading and most prominent institution for economics in Uzbekistan. As a result, modifications were made to the university's organisational structure. Accordingly, the faculty's name was changed to Management. Currently, 2,000 students are studying at the Faculty of Management.
