Avicenna Health Center

Tashkent State University of Economics (TSUE) promotes a comprehensive, well-rounded approach to campus well-being through its Health Support Service, anchored by the on-campus Avicenna Health Center. Staffed by a therapist and two nurses, and equipped with modern diagnostics, the center offers confidential, evidence-based primary and preventive care such as routine check-ups, vaccinations, and screenings. It also provides timely acute and first-response services with specialist referrals when needed, along with professionally conducted consultations that protect privacy.

The service complements clinical care with structured health education and wellness initiatives, including seminars on nutrition, exercise, hygiene, and stress management; campaigns for flu prevention and smoking cessation; and fitness activities that improve health literacy and self-care. It ensures equitable access to comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services through confidential counseling on contraception, STIs, family planning, consent, and healthy relationships, as well as on-site clinics in partnership with local providers offering STI and pregnancy testing, emergency contraception, and accessible informational resources.

Mental health and psychosocial support are multilayered and accessible through a licensed counseling center that addresses stress, anxiety, mood, academic pressure, and relationship issues, with crisis-intervention capabilities for urgent needs, stigma-reducing psychoeducation, expert lectures, facilitated peer/support groups, and a 24/7 online portal of self-help resources.

Additionally, the program offers ongoing and affordable care through health-insurance guidance and coordinated off-campus referrals. All services adhere to strict principles of access, non-discrimination, and confidentiality, and are continuously enhanced through monitoring of usage and results, fostering a healthy, inclusive learning environment that encourages academic success.
