Monitoring the Effectiveness of Researchers’ Activities
Entry and registration
Details about approved dissertation topics of independent researchers, along with information on the academic supervisor and scientific consultant (if appointed), must be entered into the Unified Electronic System and published in the Bulletin of the Supreme Attestation Commission (SAC/OAK).
Eligibility for defense
Independent researchers who have met all current requirements and formatted their dissertations according to SAC standards will be permitted to participate in the dissertation defense.
Institutional oversight
The University, in coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, monitors the effectiveness of researchers’ activities.
Monitoring Criteria for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Year 1:
Availability and implementation of the approved Individual Plan for the dissertation topic;
Availability and implementation of the approved theoretical–methodological program in the specialty;
Publication of at least one scholarly article on the dissertation topic in a relevant journal;
Presenting on the dissertation topic at a scientific conference;
Prepare a brief analytical summary of the dissertation topic;
Presentation of the analytical summary results with the academic supervisor at the university's scientific seminar;
Adherence to the University’s internal regulations.
Year 2:
During the reporting period, publication of at least one scholarly article on the dissertation topic in relevant journals;
During the reporting period, published at least one conference abstract on the dissertation topic;
Publication of at least one article in a relevant foreign journal related to the dissertation topic;
Presentation of preliminary results of the dissertation at a university scientific seminar;
Submission of a progress report on the implementation of the Individual Plan;
Adherence to the University’s internal regulations.
Year 3:
Availability of scholarly articles published in journals, including foreign journals, in sufficient quantities to meet the established requirements;
Completion of the dissertation and the author’s abstract prepared in accordance with SAC requirements;
Review and discuss the dissertation and the author’s abstract during university department meetings;
Adherence to the University’s internal regulations.
Monitoring Criteria for the Doctor of Science (DSc)
Year 1:
Availability and implementation of the Individual Plan for the dissertation topic;
Completion of Chapters 1 and 2 for the dissertation;
Publication of at least three scholarly articles on the dissertation topic in relevant journals;
Publication of at least one conference abstract on the dissertation topic in the proceedings of a national or international scientific conference;
Delivering a conference or seminar presentation on the dissertation topic;
Preparation of an analytical review of the dissertation topic;
Presentation of seminar analytics review results;
Adherence to the university's internal regulations.
Year 2:
Completion of Chapters 3 and 4 of the dissertation;
During the reporting period, publication of at least four scholarly articles on the dissertation topic in relevant journals, including at least one abroad;
Publishing at least one conference abstract on the dissertation topic in the proceedings of international and national conferences;
Conduct a seminar on the preliminary results of the dissertation;
At least one presentation at a conference or seminar;
Submission of a progress report on the implementation of the Individual Plan;
Adherence to the University’s internal regulations.
Year 3:
During the reporting period, publication of at least three scholarly articles on the dissertation topic in relevant journals;
Availability of a monograph published on the dissertation results;
Compliance with the University’s internal regulations;
The completion of the dissertation and the author’s abstract was prepared in accordance with SAC requirements;
Review and discussion of the dissertation or the author’s abstract within university departments.
Review and Decisions
Monitoring results are reviewed and approved by the University Council. Appropriate actions are taken regarding researchers who fail to implement their Individual Plans.
Doctoral students who do not fulfill their Individual Plans are dismissed from basic doctoral studies or doctoral programs by order of the Rector and cannot be reinstated.
