Strengthening Cooperation: TSUE Hosts “Leaders and Youth” Meeting with Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan
On April 9 of the current year, The Department of World Economy and International Economic Relations, in collaboration with the Faculty of Management, organized a meeting titled “Leaders and Youth” at the Tashkent State University of Economics with representatives of the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The dialogue was attended by representatives of the Ministry and university leadership, students, and media representatives.
During the meeting, discussions organized in the format of a roundtable focused extensively on the economic reforms being implemented in the country, improving the investment climate, developing industry, and the priority directions of foreign trade policy. Students raised a number of pressing and important questions. In particular, the process of accession to the World Trade Organization, its impact on the national economy, opportunities for domestic producers, and the challenges of adapting to a competitive environment were at the center of the discussion. Additionally, participants exchanged views on liberalizing foreign trade policy, increasing export potential, exploring new markets, and expanding international economic cooperation. The detailed and practical responses provided by the Ministry representatives served as an important source of knowledge and experience for the students. The proposals and initiatives of young participants were also heard, and opinions were expressed regarding mechanisms to support them.
At the end of the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry and the university, aimed at consistently developing promising and mutually beneficial cooperation and elevating the system of training highly qualified specialists for the sector to a new level.
The meeting plays an important role in further strengthening effective dialogue between students and government institutions, increasing young people’s interest in economic processes, and contributing to the preparation of highly qualified professionals for the future.
